R & P Island Street Porter Ham, whole ham
A cooked ham of exceptional quality, available as a whole piece ready for you to slice at home.
We make our ham in a traditional way, as previous generations of butchers would have done, using free-range pork raised to high standards of animal welfare. It’s marinated in molasses and Island Street Porter beer from our friends and neighbours at Salcombe Brewery, and then gently cured and naturally smoked over apple and beech wood.
Our ham is made from collar of pork – sometimes also called the shoulder. That’s an unusual a ham, coming from the smaller front leg of the pig rather than the hind. We prefer the collar for its more intense, even flavour.
Serve at room temperature.
This product will arrive with a minimum of 10 days shelf life. Once opened consume within 3 days. Suitable for freezing. Once defrosted, do not refreeze.

For a special family feast, just put the ham in a saucepan and pour in some cider to about half way up the side of the ham. Simmer for 45 minutes. Meanwhile, make a good creamy mash potato, steam some kale and mix together for a great Colcannon. Take the ham out of the stock, thicken with corn flour and a little cream. Plate up slices of ham with your Colcannon and pour some of your sauce over the top for a fantastic feast.

Place your order before 11am to qualify for next day delivery. Orders placed after 11am will be dispatched the following day for overnight delivery.
